Delivery

Every item ordered will be dispatched from us as soon as possible. For books in stock they are usually sent same or next day. However in exceptional circumstances delivery may take up to 14 days. Books on Pre Order will be dispatched as soon as they arrive. Arrival dates are estimates, we are reliant on other companies for delivery which sometimes becomes delayed.

We publish and source guides from across Europe. Therefore the office is sometimes closed to allow for research/sourcing trips. Any closure is stated on the website. At times of closure your order will be processed at our return.

UK Delivery

All Royal Mail postage and packing costs are included in the price for UK orders. We would advise that packages sent by this method are usually received within two to four working days from despatch. Additional methods of delivery (ie guaranteed or signed for) can be requested and an additional charge will be made, this option is subject to availability.

All our books are sent via Royal Mail, and are posted Second Class.

Europe and Worldwide Delivery

All deliveries outside of the UK are sent Air Mail. You will be charged a shipping cost for each item you order based on its weight. Orders will not be processed if the shipping cost has been incorrectly selected.

Upon entering the shipping country, deliveries will enter the postal system of the country concerned. It is our experience that goods delivered using this method arrive within seven to 14 days of despatch for European destinations, and within 12 to 24 days of despatch for the rest of the world.

VAT

The prices on the website are inclusive of VAT where applicable (books are currently zero rated). Customers ordering for delivery outside of the UK will be responsible for payment of any local taxes payable including VAT, and will be required to pay extra for delivery and clearance where necessary.

Customs Charges

If you are ordering goods for delivery outside of the UK, please note that your consignment may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once the goods reach the country of destination. Any such charges levied in relation to customs clearance must be paid by you. It is accepted by you that Vicarious Books LLP has no control over additional charges in relation to customs clearance. Vicarious Books LLP recommend that you check with your local customs officials or post office for more information regarding importation taxes/duties that may be applicable to your online order. You will be the importer of record and responsible for any import VAT and duty that needs to be paid. In addition, any charges for import clearance will be paid by you, the customer.

Returns

Vicarious Books LLP operates a 'no questions asked' returns policy providing you return your book within 7 working days of the delivery of your order. This policy is in accordance with the UK Distance Selling Regulations. A full refund will be given for the returned items, providing they are in their original condition and packaging, however, any postage costs incurred when returning your items will be at your own cost.

This policy does not extend to any perishable items, sealed audio, video recording or computer software, which are subject to our standard returns policy (see below).

The item was found to be damaged or faulty.

We will either replace the item or give you a full refund (including postage costs). Please state which option you prefer. If you require a replacement, we will wait to receive the faulty item from you before despatching a new one.

The item was incorrectly supplied.

If we have made a mistake in fulfilling your order, a full refund (including postage costs) will be given upon recipt of the incorectly sent item.

The item does not meet with your requirements.

We will refund the ordered item only (all postage costs will be incurred by the customer) subject to the following conditions:

a) The book must be returned within 14 days of receipt in the UK, 21 days of receipt outside the UK
b) It must be in pristine and resaleable condition.
c) It must be accompanied by a copy of the delivery note or receipt.

Items should be returned to us by the most economical method. Goods remain your property until we have received them. For the return of high value goods, we recommend that you use a recorded delivery service, as we cannot be responsible for non-delivery of returned items.

Please allow 14 days (in addition to the delivery time) for the return to be processed.

This returns policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Returns Policy For Business Customers

Our standard Returns Policy does not apply to those customers who purchase items for business use, resale or on a Business Account. Please see your individual contract.

Missing Items

Very few of our items are reported not to reach their destination (less than one in a thousand). However occasionally some items suffer delay. Royal Mail requests 14 working days for delivery for UK items. If your item has not arrived within seven days please contact us and we will check and confirm dispatch date and address. If there is an error on our part we will immediately dispatch your items (subject to stock). However it is your responsibility to ensure that the shipping address details are correct. We are not responsible for orders with incorrect or missing information should they not reach you.

For UK deliverys if you have not received your books within 14 working days we will immediately dispatch your items (subject to stock) once we have received written confirmation of this from you.
